Rajesh Narain Gupta is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India since 1988(D/433/88). He has vast experience in corporate and transactional matters including litigation.

He is the Managing Partner of SNG & Partners, a full service law firm, having presence in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Singapore.

Rajesh's areas of specialization include Financial Services, Commercial Laws, Real Estate, ESG and Private Client Practice. He is an advisor to number of leading Foreign and Indian Banks, Financial Institutions, Real Estate players, Corporate and Industrial Houses. He is a pioneer in India in the area of Succession & Estate Planning.

Rajesh is closely connected with the banking and financial industry as well as corporate for over three decades. He has successfully led several negotiations and is consulted on business solutions and strategy. He regularly advises on routine and complex financial transactions.

Rajesh has vast experience on the stressed asset side and was retained by the Banking Industry to advice on implementation on the procedural aspects of the Securitization & Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act, 2002. He advised NeSL, a company promoted by the Union Government and owned by reputed financial institutions, on legal issues connected with setting up of First Utilities Services under the Bankruptcy Code.

Rajesh was also a special invitee by the Indian Banks Association and the Reserve Bank of India in connection with the amendment of The Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

He was instrumental in advising leading Banks and NBFCs including HDFC Ltd, ICICI Bank, and several functional banks and private banks, on mortgage finance and preparing legal manuals around the product and has advised on several transactions on real estate including matters connected with town ship developments, Foreign Direct Investment, residential and commercial projects.

Rajesh has widely contributed and been a pioneer in the area of private wealth laws and advised Ultra HNIs and HNIs on matters connected with Business and Personal Succession Planning. Rajesh works closely with several promoter families and advises them regularly on strategic issues.

He has contributed to legal research papers that have been published by leading dailies, law journals and reputed publications in India and abroad. Co-author of several books on banking laws and practices, he has been a speaker at various forums in India and abroad on matters of legal significance.

Rajesh completed the Independent Directors Certification Program, "The Directors Club" as introduced by Hunt Partners with Board Evaluation, UK, SPJIMR in September 2016.

Revised the 27th edition of M L Tannan: Banking Law and Practice in India published by LexisNexis and released in June 2017.

Revised the 25th edition of M L Tannan: Banker's Manual: A commentary on Banking Laws and Allied Acts published by LexisNexis and released in September 2016.

Co-authored and revised the 5th Edition 2015 of The Banking Law - In Theory & Practice - First edition of the book, authored by late Mr. S. N. Gupta, was published in 1989. He has edited the latest edition in three volumes.

Co-authored and revised the 7th Edition 2014 of Law Relating to Guarantees- The book is an authoritative work on the subject and contains separate chapters dealing with different aspects on the subject, which are further categorized into various sections for easy access and readability.

Co-authored and revised the 8th Edition 2015 of Dishonor of Cheques: Liability­ Civil & Criminal - explains the law relating to dishonor of cheques.

Co-authored and revised the 6th Edition 2016 of Supreme Court on Banking Law - This publication contains a collection of cases decided by the Supreme Court of India on Banking & Debt Laws.
