Sangeeta is an arguing counsel with more than 29 years of professional experience at the Bar. She is empanelled as an Arbitrator with the Delhi International Arbitration Centre and is also a Mediator with the Delhi High Court Mediation Centre. She is the Founding and Managing Partner of Jurisperitus Law Offices and Partner SNG & Partners.

Experience

Sangeeta is an active litigating counsel, representing clients in large, high value complex domestic and international disputes both before judicial and quasi-judicial fora including civil and criminal matters before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble High Court Delhi. She specializes in Commercial Arbitration (Domestic & International), Litigation and strategy in the areas of Contracts and Tenders, Environment, Energy (with special focus on Oil and Gas), Infrastructure, Consumer Disputes, Private Client, Criminal law, Employment law, Constitutional law etc.

She regularly appears and argues before the Supreme Court of India and High Court of Delhi and also argues before High Court’s of various States in special cases such as High Court of Bombay, Himachal Pradesh, Kolkata, Punjab & Haryana, Allahabad, etc. She has also assisted and instructed leading Senior Advocate(s) in complex matters before the Supreme Court and various High Courts.

Sangeeta has extensive experience in civil and commercial law and arbitration under a variety of international arbitration rules and procedures and is also a qualified Arbitrator and Mediator.

She has agitated issues of wide ranging public importance in the form of public interest petitions (PIL) both before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and the High Court of India. She has been covered by local and national news papers on her plea before the Supreme Court of India on stricter laws to ensure protection and safety & security of children in India as well as gross violation of human rights relating to a brutal attack on a minor and his father by several policemen in Mukherjee Nagar Delhi.

(i) Presently Standing Counsel to Delhi Jal Board (DJB) in the High Court of Delhi;

(ii) Represented the State of Himachal Pradesh in the Supreme Court of India as Counsel 2017-18;

(iii) Previously Standing Counsel for Delhi Development Authority from 1997-2001;

(iv) Previously Counsel for Union of India in the Delhi High Court;

(v) Panel Speaker at LAWASIA Conference held in Bali on FDI and regulatory framework of Oil and Gas sector in India.

Sangeeta represents and advises clients which include Japanese and French companies apart from large Indian Public Sector Undertaking’s (PSU) in complex commercial transactions apart from advising private clients.
